Our mission is to save lives by enabling emergency services to operate response drones beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS)
Drones have the potential to save lives in the UK, but this potential is not yet fully realised.
They free up
vital emergency
services resources
They can bypass obstacles such as traffic, floods
and large crowds
They can rapidly
delivery life-saving
equipment
They quickly reach
hard-to-access areas
Current regulation doesn’t allow routine use of BVLOS for emergency response
There are many interested organisations with varied requirements
There is public concern about drone use
More trials are needed to demonstrate safety and usability
But there are challenges
This is how we’re tackling it
We have been commissioned by the CAA and DfT to advise on new BVLOS regulations
We engage with stakeholders to align on requirements
We collaborate with university studies on public acceptance of drones
We fund safety
and usability trials
